Mycoplasma reagents
On average 35 % of all cell and virus cultures are contaminted with mycoplasma. Mycoplasma contaminations greatly affect the reproducibility and expressiveness of experimental results. For instance, the cell proliferation will be affected by up to 50 % due to nutrient competition and toxic metabolic products.
To eliminate such contaminations, reagents like Mynox® are suitable. Mynox® acts in a biophysical way and kills mycoplasma in a direct way. For a rapid and efficient detection of mycoplasma PCR tests (Venor®) can be used.
