Penicillin/Streptomycin
Penicillin (C16H17N2NaO4S; MW 356.40) is a β-lactam antibiotic from Penicillium chrysogenum. Penicillin is predominantly active against Gram-positive bacteria.
mechanism: Inhibits the last cell wall synthesis, connects peptidoglycan strands by irreversibly interacting with transpeptidase
Streptomycin-sulfate ((C21H39N7O12)2-3H2SO4; MW 1457.40) is an aminoglycoside antibotic derived from Streptomyces griseus. Streptomycin-sulfate is active against Gram-negative bacteria and Mycobacteria.
mechanism: Inhibits initiation of the protein biosynthesis
