Dulbecco's MEM (DMEM)

The standard formulation uses 1000 mg/l glucose, whereas the high glucose version (4500 mg/l glucose) proved to be superior for cells with higher energy requirements. An important modification of the medium is the 1:1 mixture DMEM/Ham’s F-12.

Different from the original formulation only 0.05 mg/l riboflavin is used to avoid negative photo oxidative effects.
