Information concerning Trypsin from porcine pancreas
Change in trypsin activity
For many years, Biochrom is distributing Trypsin powder substance. Prior to release of a Trypsin batch, it is tested for porcine parvovirus (PCR) and mycoplasma (PCR). Each Trypsin batch will only be released, if both test results are negative.
In the following, we will inform you about an important change of the Trypsin activity:
So far, we delivered Trypsin with the addition 1:250; the Trypsin powder substance did contain at least 250 USP units/mg. From now on you will receive trypsin powder substance with the five-fold trypsin activity; that means the activity is at least 1250 USP units/mg.
20 g of the new version of Trypsin with an activity of at least 1250 USP units/mg comply with 100 g of the former Trypsin with an activity of at least 250 USP units/mg. So please use only the fifth part of the Trypsin amount as stated in your manufacturing specification.
Due to this reason we have adapted the package size for Trypsin accordingly; i.e. the packing unit for Trypsin is now 20 g; the new cat.no. is S 2103-20G. On request, we will provide a certificate of analysis for every batch showing the Trypsin activity as well as the activity for Chymotrypsin. The Trypsin activity will now be marked on every label.
