Partricin (fungicide)

The polyene antimycotic Partricin A (C₇₉H₁₁₉O₃₁N_5,MW 1634.81) is obtained from the fermentation broths of Streptomyces aureofaciens. The hydrosoluble polyene, SPA-S-843, from Partricin A (N-dimethylaminoacetyl partricin A 2-dimethylaminoethylamide-diascorbate) shows potent activity against fungi and yeast than Amphotericin B.
