Biochrom AG executive board changes: Farewell for long-time board member Dr. Bernd Frenzel
Dr. Bernd Frenzel, long-time Biochrom AG board member, recedes from his position, but remains closely related to the company as a chief representative. Besides strategic reflections and key questions, above all, he will be in charge of the sourcing of Fetal Bovine Serum (FBS) in common Biochrom quality, and of the expansion of our business activities in Asia and South America. “We thank Dr. Bernd Frenzel for his outstanding loyalty and his great sense of responsibility. He successfully established Biochrom AG on the market as well in economically difficult times, like for example after the fall of the wall. He always had the courage to realize necessary changes and strategically prudent investments, in order to keep pace with the rush development in research. His commitment significantly characterized Biochrom AG’s development. Not least, we also owe him that Biochrom AG is nowadays one of the leading European manufacturers of cell culture media and animal sera for cell culture serving a global market”, states Dr. Dieter Schultze-Zeu, chairman of the supervisory board.
As from October 01st 2008, Dr. Wolfgang Höckh was appointed new member of the Biochrom AG board. Dr. Höckh, biologist, already worked as a sales manager for Biochrom AG from 1990 to 1996. In the last years he worked as a managing director and executive board member in mid-sized companies and group companies, mainly settled in medical devices, chemical industry, and biotechnology. “Biochrom AG has, like the stem cell research, still – worldwide – a big potential. I’m pleased to take this challenge, and in my new function as a board member to further develop from a solid basis leading Biochrom AG successfully into the future”, states Dr. Höckh.
