Biotechnica 09: Biofreeze - a hub for visitors
Biochrom AG presented on the Biotechnica this year their new serum free products, true the motto “guaranteed serum free”.
The greatest interest was for the new freezing medium. Many visitors requested free samples. An important aspect was that the freezing medium is free of cell toxic dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) and also free of serum. It presented an interesting alternative for those visitors who cultivate their cells in chemically defined and serum free media, as they can now safely freeze their cells serum free since after unfreezing with Biofreeze the cell vitality is as high as with conventional freezing media.
“We are very pleased with the trade fair. We were able to establish new valuable contacts also this year. Our Biofreeze unfolded the expected magnetic effect and lead to many conversations about future orientation of cell culture. As a producer we have to make out trends at an early stage – important indicators are trade fairs like the Biotechnica. We will definitely participate also next year”, states Dr. Wolfgang Höckh, Biochrom AG board member of the Biochrom AG.
